As always, we went out to the lake for the 4th to Blake's cousin's house on Lake Travis. We usually go out there the night before and ride the boat over to the Carlos-N-Charlie's fireworks, but this year, we didn't have babysitters and didn't think the girls would do so well late at night out on a boat with fireworks so close to them. Oh well, next year, hopefully we'll resume that tradition.
We went out to the lake in the morning and had an extravagant southern meal complete with fried chicken, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, river-slaw, potato salad, beans, watermelon, etc. Then we all played in the pool for hours upon hours until the girls were spent. They had a good time, but were worn out. We were worn out as well due to the stress of watching two kids going up and down rock steps on an edge that drops down to the lake and/or pool. It's an amazing place, but just not for kids their age.
We made it home just in time to catch the fireworks at the Buda park. It was the girls' first time seeing fireworks. They were asking to leave the entire time, but I think they actually decided they liked it after it was all over. All in all, it was a good day.....time for some recouping though!
Jumping to Daddy in the pool
Taking a food break (T.B. still has it in her mouth!)
Riley's "Captain Morgan" pose
In the infinity pool (see lake behind)
Fixing to jump in

I wish you guys would have texted us- we would have loved to have had you to watch the fireworks with! And I don't want to sound dumb, but what is "river-slaw?"
Yeah what is river slaw? Sounds like a great party. We really miss Texas. Maybe someday we will be sent back, but it doesn't look like anytime soon.
